Instructor Bio
Cheryl Faye Andrews (nee Olson) caught the theatre bug right here in Athabasca, performing in community and school productions, as well as participating in music festivals. She went on the get her Bachelor of Fine Arts (In Acting) from the University of Alberta's conservatory program. Since graduating in 2003, Cheryl has been working as a Professional Theatre Artist across Alberta.
Cheryl has been involved in productions with the following theatre companies: The Citadel Theatre, The Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Studio Theatre, Free-Will Players, Quest Theatre, Vertigo Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Theatre Calgary, Sage Theatre, Urban Curves Theatre, Kids From The Sticks, Beyond The Brink Productions, Jeezum Crow Productions and Stage West-Calgary.
Cheryl has been fortunate to work in many facets of theatre such as performance, direction, production, fight choreography, playwriting, costume design, stage management and arts education.
Cheryl has developed and delivered arts education over the last 15 years with the following companies: Quest Theatre, Evergreen Theatre, Prospero Theatre, The TELUS World of Science and Creative Kids Museum, The Royal Conservatory-Learning Through The Arts, UpTown! Music & Dance at Suncor Centre for the Performing Arts and Theatre Athabasca.
Cheryl is excited to share her professional experience and passion for arts education with her hometown of Athabasca. She moved back to Athabasca in the summer of 2015 when she and her husband, Frazer, started their family. She is now a mother to two beautiful children, Gus and Maggie.
Those 'Aha' moments are what Cheryl enjoys most about sharing her love of theatre with others!
